Four teams took to the turf across a hot Durban weekend, with the men's sides delivering a clean sweep and the ladies holding firm for a well-earned point.

It was one of those weekends that tests more than just skill. With temperatures soaring across Durban, Gongs Hockey Club players had to dig deep in the heat. Four teams took the field, and the results could hardly have been better.

The men's sides delivered a near-flawless sweep. Men's 1st opened proceedings with a disciplined 2-0 win over Crusaders, keeping a clean sheet in demanding conditions and showing the kind of defensive solidity that wins tight games. Men's 2nd followed with a 3-1 victory against Riverside 4, putting three past their opponents while managing the heat well through the game. Men's 3rd completed the men's clean sweep with a dominant 3-0 shutout against Gryphons 3. Three teams, three wins, three clean sheets. On a hot day, that takes serious fitness and focus.

Ladies' 1st rounded out the on-field action with a battling 0-0 draw against Gryphons 1. Against a strong side and in the afternoon heat, a point on the board and a clean sheet is a result with plenty of merit.

Ladies' 2nd were unable to field this weekend due to illness within the squad. They will return to action once a rescheduled date is confirmed.

Four teams, four results the club can be proud of. A good weekend for Gongs.
